Locates in the Xilingol grassland, it is the only railway port that leads to Mongol, so it is the most convenient route way that connects the Asia and Europe, the total size is 16sq km, permanent residents is about 100,000. In the year 1956, the start to open the Beijing-Ulan Bator-Moscow international train made Erlianhot a port. In the year 1992, it became one of the 13 open border cities. The Ji'er  Railway connects the Jing-Bao, Jing-Shan, Mongol, Russia and Europe railway together. It has the Xilingol Grassland, Dinosaur's  Tomb and Dinosaur Museum, The Gate of People's Republic of China, and the Mere Stone ; And it also has the travel route to Ulan Bator and Russia .It holds in store many natural resources such as the oil, original saltpeter, salt, lapis and "Erlian Stone" etc.
