Baotou City Rare Earth Research Institute 

According to Baotou City Quality and Technology Administration, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQISQ) has approved the establishment of National Rare Earth Product Quality Supervision and Test Center. The center will be a created out of the former Baotou City Quality, Measurement and Test Bureau and under the leadership of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Quality Supervision Administration.

Baotou, known as a home of rare earth, has the world's largest rare earth mine, Baiyunebo Mine,whose deposits of rare earth account for 54.2% of the world's total rare earth reserves and for 81.2% of China's total reserves. After nearly 40 years of development, Baotou has cultivated a complete industry system comprising of mining, selecting, melting and using and become China's largest supplier of rare earth materials. In addition, Baotou has China's largest rare earth research institute and only new and high tech rare earth development zone. The advantage of natural resources is being turned into industrial advantage.

The newly established center in Baotou will set industry standards for national rare earth industry and products, provide internationally recognized test methods and contribute agreat deal to making China's rare earth industry larger and stronger, boosting the quality and reputation of rare earth industry products and turning Baotou into China Rare Earth Valley.
