In December 2005, the annual passenger through put of Baita Airport in Hohhot reached one million person-times for the first time.

Since the golden week of May Daythis year, ecological grassland travel got more and more popular. Inner Mongolian Civil Aviation Airport Group Company stressedon promoting air travel market, cooperated with each airline company on popular travel routes, extended air travel to a certain scale, and made it highlighted in transportation. Several routes, such as Hohhot-Hefei, Hohhot-Changsha, and Hohhot-Xiamen, became hot travel routes this year. Baita Airport has developed in succession the routes to each provincial capital city, and intensified the flights to the biggest three hinge airports. Up to this December, the number of arrival and departure flight courses of Baita Airport in Hohhot reached 33, and the number of domestic and foreign cities that are open to air traffic with Hohhot reached 44. All domestic large-scale airline companies have set offices in Inner Mongolia.
