Baotou Rare Earth High-tech Industry Development Zone

From the Development and Reform Commission of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, itis learned that the high-tech industry developed quickly over the 11th-Five Year Plan Period with quantity of high-tech enterprises reaching 318 and indexes such as the total production value, total revenue, total pre-tax profit and foreign exchange earned through export increased by 57.64%, 53.43%, 25.37% and 58.46% respectively.

During the 11th-Five Year Plan Period, the high-tech enterprises have involved in biology, electron and information, electromechanical integration, energy-saving and environment protection with support of related industrial policies of the state and the autonomous region. In total there were 99 Torch Plan projects carried out, of which 74 projects were state-level and 25 autonomous region level, total investment reaching 207.6 billion yuan.

Quick development of the high-tech industry vigorously enhanced the high-tech industrial park to exert the outstanding assembly effect.The autonomous region has established one state-level high-tech industry development zone, one high-tech product export base, three autonomous-level high-tech development zones, four state-level high-tech specialty bases and 12 autonomous-level high-tech specialty bases.

Quick development of high-tech enhanced industrial structure adjustment and industrial upgrade of Inner Mongolia. Take the coal industry as example, the Autonomous Region arranged 15 high-tech projects with total investment of 68.26 million yuan. The projects that have reached their production capacity have added production value of 208 million yuan.
